A strategic hub for custom manufacturing

Today, the Treviso facility represents a key operational hub within the Menci Group. Covering 12,000 sqm and employing approximately 90 people, the site specializes in the production of frames and structural components for both the Arezzo headquarters and the Zorzi brand line, dedicated to the custom-built general cargo segment. This is a high-value-added manufacturing environment where customization, precision, and adaptability are essential. To meet these demands, in recent months, Treviso has undergone a significant technological and organizational upgrade, developed in partnership with Warcom.

An evolution toward greater integration and control

The Treviso plant has always been a benchmark for technical expertise and quality in heavy structural steel fabrication. However, market evolution and the growing demand for customization and shorter delivery times required a further step forward in terms of integration and production capacity. The objective was not to address shortcomings, but to strengthen an already solid system, making it even more autonomous and high-performing. The investment focused on technologies capable of integrating multiple production phases within a single process, reducing intermediate handling and improving accuracy and operational continuity.

The transition from plasma cutting to high-power fiber laser cutting, combined with the introduction of tandem press brake technology, has further elevated quality standards and expanded the range of operations managed in-house, particularly for long components and heavy plate thicknesses. This innovation represents not a replacement, but an enhancement: greater vertical integration, increased process control, and a production structure even better equipped to respond to the demands of custom manufacturing.

Introduction of new technologies

Specifically, the following equipment has been installed:

- a 12 kW W-Fiber 2590 fiber laser cutting system, with a working area of 2,500 x 9,000 mm and an integrated 3D bevel head

- two Dinamica 40-400 press brakes in tandem configuration, providing a total capacity of 800 tons over 8 meters

This was not simply a machinery upgrade, but a structural leap in the production model.

With the new fiber laser system, operations that previously required more than two hours can now be completed in approximately thirty minutes. Even more significant is the beveling of fifth-wheel plates: reduced from approximately 7 minutes per hole to about 30 seconds, performed directly within the laser process.

This results in:

- elimination of intermediate steps

- reduction of internal handling

- fewer rework operations

- increased precision

- improved final quality

At the same time, the tandem press brakes allow bending of profiles up to 8 meters in a single operation, with a total force of 800 tons. The integration of the conical axis further enables the production of complex geometries and critical structural components. The outcome is the internalization of processes previously supported externally, significantly strengthening the plant’s production autonomy.

Added value beyond technology

The innovation introduced has generated benefits that extend beyond the purely technical dimension. From a production standpoint:

- reduced lead times

- smoother production flow

- improved job planning

- increased productivity

From a commercial perspective, this evolution translates into greater responsiveness to customer-specific requirements, a key factor in custom manufacturing markets. Controlling more phases internally allows for more accurate delivery planning and improved reliability. The expansion of the workable range — now up to 40–45 mm thickness and more complex geometries — further strengthens the plant’s competitive positioning in the general cargo segment, reinforcing the Group’s ability to deliver tailored structural solutions with high quality standards.

Internalizing means controlling quality, timing, and costs with greater accuracy. It means being more reliable for customers and more solid in the marketplace.

Technology and people: a shared evolution

The investment was not limited to technology. It was accompanied by a reorganization of production flows and the introduction of new roles dedicated to job management. Innovation also means investing in skills, coordination, and the ability to interpret processes with a forward-looking perspective.

The collaboration with Warcom developed along these lines: not simply the supply of machinery, but technical dialogue and a shared long-term vision.

Treviso: a flagship production site

Today, the Treviso facility consolidates its role as a center of excellence in heavy structural steel fabrication for custom manufacturing, combining industrial strength, technical precision, and production flexibility. A site looking confidently toward the future, investing in technology and people to build an increasingly solid, integrated and competitive value chain.
