On December 11, 2025, we officially inaugurated the new photovoltaic system installed at our production site in Tuscany. A project that not only strengthens the company’s commitment to renewable energy, but also positions it as a benchmark for the local area, clearly demonstrating how industry can successfully combine innovation, sustainability and competitiveness.
A well-attended event: institutions, partners and innovation leaders
The inauguration ceremony was attended by numerous guests, including institutional representatives, technical partners and members of the business community. Among those present were the Municipality of Castiglion Fiorentino, representatives of Fondazione CER Italia and technical partner Iris Srl, as well as the company’s top management, including Massimo Menci, General Manager, who highlighted the company’s strategic vision of turning energy efficiency into a driver of growth.
In his speech, Massimo Menci emphasized that “this investment is not just a technological step forward, but a commitment to a new way of producing, one that is more attentive to the environment and to people’s future,” underlining the importance of a structured path built on bold choices and targeted investments.
The traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony officially marked the system’s entry into operation, followed by a guided tour showcasing the adopted technologies and the plant’s concrete contribution to the company’s energy needs.
A future-oriented expansion project
The new photovoltaic system represents the final step in a journey that began several years ago with the installation of the first two systems already operating at the production site. With this third installation, Menci takes a further step toward energy independence and environmental impact reduction.
The expansion was designed to integrate seamlessly with existing structures, maximize available surface area and fully exploit the area’s solar irradiation. The choice of high-efficiency technologies, capable of delivering consistent performance even under variable lighting conditions, reflects the company’s desire to invest in a reliable, scalable system capable of generating long-term benefits.
During the technical presentation, the internal energy project manager explained that “the goal was to install a powerful system without interfering with the production cycle, ensuring operational continuity while maximizing direct self-consumption,” highlighting the plant’s ability to integrate smoothly into daily operations.
The numbers behind the new system: efficiency, autonomy and environmental impact
The new installation has an estimated production of 1,200,000 kWh per year—enough energy to supply approximately 444 Italian households for one year (based on an average annual consumption of 2,700 kWh). Of this energy, 66% is consumed directly on-site, significantly reducing energy drawn from the grid.
From an environmental perspective, the benefits are substantial: the new system avoids the emission of approximately 540,000 kg of CO₂ per year, equivalent to planting over 25,700 trees.
With this addition, Menci’s total photovoltaic production now exceeds 2.5 million kWh per year, confirming the company as one of the most advanced industrial players in the region in terms of energy transition.
