Walking into a company, stepping through the workshop, observing an active production line up close, and engaging with professionals who work every day in the industrial and marketing fields: this is the kind of experience we wanted to offer to the fifth-year class of the Cortona High School during their visit to our Tuscan facilityAccompanied by teachers Massimo Mancini and Rita Ceccarelli, the students took part in an afternoon designed to go beyond theory and demonstrate what it truly means to work in a structured, market-oriented company.

A dialogue that begins with people

The visit opened with welcoming remarks from Roberto Fanton, HR Director, who emphasized how strategic it is for Menci Group to build a tangible connection between education and industry.

Creating opportunities for dialogue means giving students the tools to make more informed choices about their future, while allowing the company to actively contribute to the development of the local community. Bringing these two worlds closer together is not merely symbolic, but a deliberate choice: we believe that the future of industry also depends on the ability to share experience, methodology, and work culture.

Industrial marketing: strategy, method, vision

The second part of the meeting was dedicated to the marketing department. The team guided the students through a session designed to demonstrate how corporate strategy is translated into daily practice.

After a brief overview of Menci Group’s history, products, and market positioning, the marketing department illustrated how a structured industrial marketing plan is developed, what drives objective-setting, how target markets are identified, and why each channel requires specific language and approaches. Through the simulation of a campaign aimed at generating qualified leads in international markets, a practical example was presented to show how analysis, targeting, and digital tools integrate into a structured, results-oriented process. The objective was to convey methodology, strategic approach, and operational vision through a real and everyday example.

From theory to production

The visit concluded in the workshop with our colleague Lorenzo Dell’Omarino, Plant Manager and Purchasing Director. With professionalism and openness, he guided the students along the production line, explaining processes, organization, and operational dynamics, while clearly and concretely answering their questions.

The students were able to closely observe the various production stages and understand how organization, technical expertise, and interdepartmental coordination transform design into a finished product.

After exploring the strategic and promotional activities of the marketing department, it was particularly meaningful for the students to see the products take shape within the facility. This step highlighted how complex it can be to align communication with production reality, and how delicate it is to ensure consistency between strategy, positioning, and industrial substance.

This represents one of the most important challenges in contemporary industrial marketing: bringing the company and its products closer to the market, without filters, conveying reliability, professionalism, and expertise in a constantly evolving environment. A challenge that requires consistency, method and the ability to adapt to change without ever losing solidity and vision.

Bridging two worlds still too far apart

We strongly believe that education and industry should not remain separate worlds. Experiences like this allow students to:

- understand real business dynamics

- see classroom knowledge applied in practice

- make more informed decisions about their future

At the same time, for us, it represents an investment in the local area and in the new generations: skilled, flexible young people capable of bringing fresh energy and perspectives are a fundamental resource for facing future challenges.

Opening the doors of the company means sharing value.
And it is a responsibility we deeply embrace.
